Merino wool properties

  • Excellent moisture absorption and release

The material's inherent high moisture absorption and release properties keep you comfortable. It is an ideal material for preventing sweat from getting cold, as well as quickly absorbing sweat and preventing stuffiness and stickiness, even in harsh environments such as winter mountains or high mountain climbing in early spring.

(Moisture absorption capacity is about twice that of cotton and about 40 times that of regular polyester.)

  • High thermal insulation

Merino wool has high heat retention because it contains about 60% air between the fibers. It also has a very low thermal conductivity compared to other fibers, so it retains body heat without letting heat escape.

  • Gentle to the touch

This hybrid fiber retains the natural texture of wool and is gentle on the skin, so it doesn't feel uncomfortable even when worn for long periods of time.

  • Mesh construction for sweat evacuation

Mesh fabric is used in areas where sweat and heat tend to build up during activity (back, sides). It maintains moderate breathability and prevents sweat from cooling you down. The mesh is moderate enough that it is not see-through, and it can be worn alone.

  • Quick drying and breathable

Using our unique spinning technology, we have succeeded in combining merino wool with a special polyester. This material has excellent breathability and moisture absorption/quick drying properties, and quickly absorbs and releases sweat. It releases moisture to the outside, preventing sweat chills.

  • High durability and easy maintenance

The combination of polyester gives the fabric durability, making it more than twice as strong as wool. It is also easy to maintain, as it can be washed in a home washing machine without having to worry about pilling.
