Ultimate SHR is a trail running sock developed for people who wear them in hot weather or who suffer from blisters , peeling skin , and calluses on the soles of their feet.
Unlike previous ULTIMATE series socks, the base material is a polyester material with a special irregular cross-section , which increases water absorption and quick-drying properties .
Originally, polyester is often used in sports socks as a material that does not easily get sweaty. Polyester has very low water absorption , which means that moisture does not penetrate and the moisture content within the fibers is almost zero . Therefore, when water or sweat comes into contact with the fabric, it is repelled and immediately diffuses and evaporates .
However, when it comes to activities that involve long periods of movement such as trail running, ultra marathons, and trekking, this quick-drying performance alone is not enough, and as a result, there are many cases where this leads to problems with the soles of the feet.
So, we thought that if we could combine the quick-drying properties of polyester with water absorption , the garment would absorb moisture and then dry repeatedly, preventing sweating even over long runs, and so we came up with polyester with a special cross-section .
By creating a special irregular cross section, there are areas where moisture cannot get in and areas where it can get in. Therefore, in addition to the conventional function of diffusing and evaporating moisture, we were able to give the socks a new function of firmly absorbing water and sweat and reducing humidity inside the socks.
This also leads to a soft feel when worn.
By changing the base material this time, they have achieved a thinner fabric and a softer feel that goes beyond the previous ULTIMATE series. The compression function (tightening) that reduces fatigue remains the same , and the development team says that this has had a positive effect as one of the characteristics of the newly used material.

Highly durable yet lightweight and thin
The Ultimate SHR also achieves both durability and driving performance , and while it uses highly durable fabric, it is also characterized by its light weight and thinness, so much so that you almost forget you are wearing it.
Although it does not use the CORDURA® fabric material used in the Ultimate and Ultimate ASO, it uses high-strength nylon on the toe and heel. It is less likely to tear even during intense exercise or long runs . (Test data available)
